"If you speak, he killed your mother and your little brother."
This is how a man threatened his daughter during the 10 years in which he abused her.
The girl was 5 years old when the rapes began.
The defendant is 46 years old and was sentenced to 17 in jail.
He was detained in the second section of Puerto Madryn, but would be transferred in a few days to Unit 6 in Rawson.
The court that convicted him was made up of judges Leonardo Pitcovsky, Marcelo Orlando and Patricia Asaro.
According to a report from the Puerto Madryn Prosecutor's Office, the complaint was made by the victim's mother, who separated from the abuser.
The accusation was made in 2019 when the victim was 15 years old and it was detailed that she had been abused by her father since she was five years old.
The teenager said that the abuses were committed
when the mother went out to work or was not at home.
And that her father threatened to kill her mother and brother if she told what was happening.
The case was in the hands of the prosecutors María Eugenia Vottero and Ivana Berazategui, members of the Office of Gender and Sexual Abuse of the Public Prosecutor's Office, and the trial was carried out in the Courts without the presence of the public because it was a sexual crime where there were minors involved.
The qualification of the sentence was for "sexual abuse with carnal access aggravated by the relationship and by the situation of coexistence."
The maximum penalty provided by the Penal Code for this type of crime is 20 years in prison.
It was what the prosecution requested.
But the court decided to sentence the man to 17 years.
The girl was encouraged to tell everything when her mother was separated from her father.
