With high-level programming, Alfonso Artiaco appears as the most cosmopolitan gallery owner in town.

It is thus of all the fairs which count - Art Basel, Frieze, Fiac - to serve its clientele of international collectors.

Surprisingly, thirty-five years ago, this merchant started in Pozzuoli, 20 kilometers from Naples, which he will join in 2003. Not without having previously attracted renowned artists such as Gilbert & George, Lawrence Weiner, Maria Thereza Alves, Giulio Paolini (currently exhibited).

His gallery now occupies a large apartment in a palace in Nilo Square.

Visiting an exhibition is like walking through a historic monument that serves as a link with the most contemporary creation.

The Donnaregina Contemporary Art Museum (Madre) owes its name, in acronym form, to the Palazzo Donnaregina which has housed it since 2005. This young museum nevertheless has a remarkable collection (Richard Serra, Rebecca Horn, Sol LeWitt ... ).
