Dispatched to the scene, firefighters treated the victim, who presented second-degree burns to the back, reports the local radio site.
She was then transported to hospital and then helicoptered to the Marseille burns service.
His vital prognosis was engaged on Friday evening.
The suspect, her 33-year-old husband, first attempted to flee before being arrested later that evening.
He was taken into custody and must be interviewed by the Nice departmental security police.
The man was not known to the police for domestic violence.

This violent assault follows many other recent cases of domestic violence, leading in the worst case to feminicide.
In 2020, 125 spousal homicides were recorded, of which 102 victims were women.
Acts take place in the majority at home, in a context of separation or dispute.
