At 11:47 am today (14th), the police received a report that an odor was coming from a high-rise unit in Ruiming Building, Siu Sai Wan Village. The fire broke out and found a man and a woman inside the unit. They were confirmed dead at the scene.

The police are now referring the case to the Eastern District Crime Squad for follow-up investigation.


According to sources, the dead were a 63-year-old man surnamed Shen and a 54-year-old woman surnamed Li. Today, a neighbor discovered a strange smell from the unit involved, and reported the incident to the police.

After initial investigation by the police, it was found that the bodies of the two deceased were swollen and rotted, and there were no superficial injuries on their bodies. No charcoal-burning objects were found in the unit, and there were no traces of ransacking.


The police officers seized the evidence at the scene.
