Homs firefighting teams are working in cooperation with the people to contain the fire that broke out in the agricultural lands of the village of Al Mahfurah in the Al-Qabo area in the western Homs countryside.
The Director of Civil Defense in Homs, Brigadier General Ghiath Aqel, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the difficult terrain of the mountainous area and the speed of the wind increased the extent of the fire and hindered its extinguishing.
Aqel pointed out that the firefighting cadres managed to stop the fire from spreading towards the villages of Autan, Rabah and al-Qabo, and dealt with the fire in agricultural lands in the village of Al-Mahfurah.
