Tropical depression Fred has downgraded to a tropical wave, and all warnings have been lifted, according to the 11 a.m. EDT advisory from the National Hurricane Center.
Fred's remains are currently about 80 km from Havana, Cuba.
Although the system degraded this morning, conditions are favorable for some strengthening and Fred is forecast to become a tropical storm again this Sunday.
It is expected to make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast Monday night as a tropical storm.
