Two police assaults occurred in the evening today (14). At 7pm, two male police officers were patrolling Kai Lim Road near Tsui Ping Road in Kwun Tong when they found a 67-year-old man surnamed Yang who was acting suspiciously and stepped forward. Intercepted for investigation, but the man refused to cooperate and tried to escape. The police officer stepped forward to uniform. The man struggled and resisted. He pushed two police officers away and hit one of them with his forehead. The man was eventually subdued and suspected of assault. The police were arrested.
In the incident, a uniformed police officer and a plainclothes police officer sustained injuries to their hands and nose, as well as minor abrasions. The arrested man sustained injuries to his face and knees. The three were sent to the United Christian Hospital for treatment.
The case was handed over to the fourth team of the Criminal Investigation Team of Kwun Tong Police District for follow-up.
Less than half an hour later, another police attack occurred off 57 Des Voeux Road West, Sheung Wan.
A 21-year-old non-Chinese man who was suspected of not wearing a mask was intercepted by two male police officers.
The man suddenly resisted and pushed against the two police officers. He was arrested on suspicion of assaulting the police and resisting arrest. The two police officers were injured in the eyes and chest respectively and were sent to hospital for treatment.
