In commemoration of the heroism of the Syrian Arab Army and the sacrifices of its martyrs, the premiere of the movie “Qassem” opened at the Opera Theater in Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts. It is different from the films that dealt with the terrorist war in Syria.
The writer and director of the work, Sami Nofal, explained to SANA that “Qassem” is an embodiment of the heroism of our army, as a group is assigned a war mission and is exposed to an emergency circumstance during that mission, pointing out that the film does not document a specific military event, but rather talks about victory as an idea implanted inside the brain of the Syrian soldier. There is no way but victory when People find that they have to make decisions that lead to an honorable result, considering that this proposition is new and unheard of, and the film is suitable during the war period, before and after it, as it is a hypothetical event.
Nawfal, who directed the central premiere of the Syrian Icon Project under the name Watan, talked about the basic differences between the two shows, as he worked in the first to present a Ugaritian theatrical show that dealt with a group of legendary characters in a projection on the concept of the people, the army and the leader within the triad of achieving victory in the battle.
The artist Basil Haidar explained that in the film he played the role of a complex character in the military establishment, Lt. Col. Afif, hoping that the film would satisfy the cinema audience in Syria.
The artist, Muhammad Hassan, said: “I felt that I was actually living the experience in the army after we saw the battles on the screens, and I knew why the men of the Syrian Arab Army were rushing forward with their hearts on their palms,” stressing that these films are very necessary in appreciation of the men of our Syrian Arab Army who protected and purified the country. from terrorism.
The inaugural presentation was attended by Speaker of the People's Assembly Hammouda Al-Sabbagh, Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous, Assistant Qatari Secretary of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party Hilal Al-Hilal, Ministers of Culture Dr. Lubana Mushouh, Tourism Muhammad Rami Martini, Media Dr. Boutros Al-Hallaq and members of the party's central leadership Dr. Mahdi Dakhlallah and Dr. Mohsen Bilal.
