Man wins the lottery for the sixth time 1:02
(CNN) -
A lucky man from South Carolina claimed his second lottery prize just days apart.
The big winner, who is from the Grand Strand, claimed a $ 40,000 prize on July 16 and then a $ 3 million prize on July 27.
He bought the two Mega Millions Quick Pick tickets at a Murphy USA gas station in Myrtle Beach, the South Carolina Education Lottery said in a statement Wednesday.
The now-millionaire often does his shopping at a nearby Walmart and usually stops by Murphy USA to play the lottery, he told lottery officials.
His day started with an accident in his new car.
He ended up with a $ 2 million lottery prize
"I couldn't believe it," he said.
"My family was shocked when I gave them the news."
In both cases, the jackpot was lost by just one number.
Still, he's a lucky guy.
