Darío Barassi (37 years old) lives one of those moments in life in which personal success translates into love and job opportunities.

The sympathetic humorist and "fat macanudo" -he himself usually presents himself that way in society- acquired great popularity with the pandemic for his role as

host

of

100 Argentines, they say,

the surprise program of El Trece.

With the rerun of the cycle of questions and answers (

Monchi Balestra

had already done it

in 2004), Barassi discovered the world of driving and, without intending or imagining it, took over the hearts of the public.

So much so that the phones explode with orders to participate in the shipment.

Barassi is the man of the moment, on television

.

And it is allowed to enjoy this present after so many years of personal elaboration.

The portals replicate your acid responses or occurrences among the participants.

It is not uncommon to come across his name on social media.

A native of San Juan

, he considers that his homeland is his ground wire and he visits it as much as possible, despite work commitments and the extensive busy schedule with which he found a few minutes to leave the camera, relax for a while and confess. with

Clarín.

Barassi says that the Darío on TV is not very different from the one at home.

-How do you live this great professional moment?

-With great pleasure, the truth is that I am very happy, surprised and in demand.

I had high expectations when I started with

100 Argentines, they say

, it was a very important challenge for me, because it was the first time I was driving, but I am very grateful to the reception from the public.

Especially because of the numbers, because of how I spend it here.

We have fun doing the show.

-You became a popular character that the public loves-

-You say?

I think it

has to do with empathy, which is something that happened to me all my life

.

I was always a kid with many friends.

With my family, on Sundays, we were three hundred thousand.

I was always a very sociable kid and I really like being with people, and I think that

developed a very welcoming capacity for me

.

I like people to come to my house and a little that is what happens to me in the air.

"100 Argentines say" is sometimes the most watched on the channel.

-What do you think you offer people?

-I think I'm a relatively nice guy and that makes me empathize.

People greet me on the street as if I were a cousin.

I take advantage of it, I ask for money, food, everything I can handle.

-Do you feel that the public identifies with you?

-I don't know if there is an identification, I think

there is a question of proximity

.

People greet me with too much affection and that is something that really amazes me every day.

The audience feels that they are not greeting a guy on television, they think they are greeting a friend.

And they

come to

the program

to play as if they were in the barbecue area of their house

-Does it surprise you?

-Look, it's something that catches my attention.

In fact,

I talk about it a lot with my wife and in therapy

.

At some point it is a phenomenon that never ceases to amaze me.

- Do you feel comfortable with this affection?

-Yes I love it.

I think there is something there as if I were a package: the fat, the good, the nice and empathetic

.

Fortunately, there is some of my stuff that they buy, and it is also partly what I am.

Nor is it that Barassi is far from who Darío is in life

.

The not so well known Barassi

-How is that Darío behind the character?

-And, it's a

lining

.

No, lie, lie.

I always say that Barassi is a character.

Of course

I am not this person 24 hours a day because my wife and daughter would hit me with a cudgel

if I came home like that.

So I understand that I have to go down a couple of steps.

-How do they coexist with the character?

Does it tire you?

-In order to live with that character, I had to do exhausting work.

Think that

I am a lawyer, an actor, at that time I was doing theater and I believed that my life project was going to be another

.

And fame began to pass, television, all together.

The best way to be able to travel through television was to build that character that is Barassi, who is not far from who I am.

-Did you like the role as a conductor?

It is your first experience ...

-Yes, and I'm honest, this is the first time since I've been working on television that I'm closer to real life.

Because I am divine and I am friendly, but

I am also a bardero, I am spicy.

I get angry easily

, but always with humor, obviously.

In that sense, I am allowing myself to enjoy this program a lot and I think that is what we reflect every day.

His wife and daughter, Pipi, are often cited in his anecdotes in front of cameras.

-What things bring you down to earth?

-

My wife and daughter bring me down to earth immediately as soon as I open the door

of my house.

And it feels great to me, because if it isn't really exhausting.

But, well, I insist, it's not that I'm very different either.

In a barbecue I am as I am on television.

-I feel exhausted, what do you do to relax?

-For me the social part is fundamental, I really enjoy being with my friends and the spaces that I find to be in another.

I have lifelong friends and I have quite a few from this last stage.

For me that is key, there is no way to be with them.

I also love spending time with my daughter,

I love parenthood

.

All that runs completely off my axis.

- Something of yours that people do not imagine?

-I try to play sports, I swim and play tennis when I can.

Now I downloaded an application to meditate.

After three seconds I want to throw the cell phone against the wall because it asks me to stand up, to breathe and those things cost me, I am honest.

But hey, now I

'm

at least

two minutes into a certain breath

and I'm satisfied.

-On more than one occasion you said that you were quite demanding with your daughter.

Where does that demand come from with her?

-I'm picky about everything.

Mainly I am very demanding with myself, and later with the rest.

If a friend of mine doesn't greet me for my birthday, I'm going to block him.

I am very dedicated and I tend to ask for that to be even.

If I give a lot, I ask a lot.

It is a mistake, I know

, I have to take charge and I treat him in therapy.

-And with your daughter?

- With Pipi it happens to me that, the times that I am with her, she responds so well, she talks a lot ... She

is two years old and she is already reasoning

.

It is impossible not to read him a story and ask him questions.

Sometimes she says to me

'Enough, Dad'

.

She is very funny.

-Can you imagine being a jealous father?

-Poor thing ... she doesn't know what awaits her.

I am the only one, the first and the forever love of my daughter.

One could say that he has known Barassi his whole life

.

It is that 13 years ago the lawyer made us laugh with his eloquent comments and his ironic sense of humor.

It was in 2008 when the television journey began as a notero for

AM

, the multi-award winning Telefe series led by

Leo Montero

and Vero Lozano.

The driver was 25 years old and had received an honorary degree from a law degree.

That was the starting point of his multifaceted career.

Barassi recognizes that he would not return, "nor crazy", to practice the profession of lawyer.

Photo Constanza Niscovolos

-What do you remember about the young Darío who came to Buenos Aires to study law and received an honorary degree?

Where is that Darío now?

- At times it seems that it is far, but the truth is that it is not.

It is much closer than you think.

I am quite faithful to the essence that I have.

I like to go to San Juan and visit my lifelong friends.

I stay very close to that Darío, because without that ground wire I would not be able to work on this.

For me that connection with my past is fundamental.

-Would you practice law again?

-Nor crazy,

I could never be that Darío with the gray suit all sweaty running back and forth in the Obelisk

with four folders.

Besides, it was lousy.

He was a disaster as a lawyer.

-Who would you defend in court?

-To anyone,

I can not defend myself or myself

.

In fact, I have lawyer friends from the past that I call to ask questions.

They tell me

'You can't be a diploma of honor and be asking me this'

.

Every afternoon Darío Barassi opens the doors of his own house, which he himself discovered in his quarantine and that, far from being the luxurious home in which he lives in Nordelta with his family, is, neither more nor less, a study of recording.

-What did you discover while driving?

-I discovered that driving is a universe that I can conquer.

I am thinking of other formats that I would like to try on TV.

-What formats?

Can you imagine yourself with a program in prime time?

-It's not something I'm thinking about right now.

I do know that many people watch the program recorded or on

YouTube

at night.

It seems to me that people felt identified with the format.

100 Argentinos

is a program to accompany family time and there is something about that concept that I love.

And he added: "I think there is a young audience that was latent on television, at least in the afternoon, that was not watching TV, but found this format, they like it and they watch it. It is a good moment when the whole family comes together and I love it. I don't care about the

schedule,

as long as it works, if people enjoy it, I am satisfied. "

The rating ally

During July,

100 Argentines say it

was the most watched program in its segment and from time to time it is usually

the program with the highest ratings on the channel.

The average for July was 7.7 and so far in August it already has an average of 8.3.

According to market studies, the audience that consumes it the most are

millennials,

who were accused of no longer watching television.

-What do you think of the fatalistic metrics that give TV for dead?

-Those sayings that TV is going to die seem absurd to me.

It is a universe that I defend, I respect.

I grew up watching a lot of television and I think it is a very interesting industry and a source of work for many people.

Its impact should not be underestimated.

-Have you received other job offers since you were doing "100 Argentines Say"?

-I cannot explain to you the level of exposure that I have since I have been doing this program, it is much higher than when I was not doing it and, nevertheless, I had other jobs.

I think it's great that the channel and the production company have opted for a driver who did not have the job of driver, with which, that TV is going to die ...

-What do you feel when they criticize other colleagues for low rating?

-I am very respectful of classic conductors and their classic formats.

I feel like it's delusional to be criticized for numbers and so forth.

They are conductors who made television for thirty years, so

rather than criticize them, they should be pondered and thanked

.

-Any reference?

-I loved Jorge Ginzburg as a driver.

He had that empathy and that freshness, and from that place he achieved spectacular results.

And as a boy I also saw Tato Bores a lot.

-Do you think you were successful?

-I am successful in the sense that I can eat roasts, that I do not lack any plate of food and I bathe every day.

I can play with my daughter, I have my wife and my dear people.

For me, success is keeping the ambition active, I never feel that I am already on the roof.

I like challenges, I like to progress, conquer, win.

I'm a forward-looking guy, I'm never comfortable.

-And where was your acting career?

-I am missing two hundred thousand things.

I would like to explore the terrain of classical theater.

Nor do I rule out going to live in Spain in the future to continue learning and, why not, act there.

I never rule out anything.

In acting I found a beautiful path.

-Do you dream of a Martín Fierro?

I wish, I am a very ambitious guy.

I would love to win a Martín Fierro.

What do they say "100 Argentinos de Barassi"?

-100 Argentines say that Barassi is the best.

Or not?
