For the second time in five days: Bezeq International and Pelephone employees go on strike Israel today

2021-08-15T11:52:33.193Z

As part of the strike, which follows the Alpha conflict with the new workers' committee, the service and support centers will be closed at 3:00 PM and the frontal centers will be closed at 4:00 PM.

The Alpha Group's workers' committee, which includes Bezeq International and Pelephone, went on strike today (Sunday), amid a dispute between the new committee, which is supposed to include employees of all the group's companies, and Alpha's management, which refuses to recognize the joint committee.

The strike is expected to peak at 15:00, when the service and customer support centers for the two companies will be completely shut down.

The frontal service and support centers will close at 4 p.m., and there will be no maintenance work and night shifts - and the work initiated in both groups will be canceled.

The committee also announced that following the strike, the transfer of payments to suppliers and no payments will be received, the works to upgrade the network and Generation 5 will be stopped and no installations and repairs will be carried out for business customers in IT services.

It should be noted that about a month and a half ago, a labor dispute was declared in the two companies, "after Alpha's joint management wanted to negotiate jointly with all the group's employees in response to management's attempts to coerce employees into negotiations," according to the workers' committee.

"These changes affect workers' rights and threaten their job security."

Last week, the Alpha Workers' Committee announced the cessation of work for the development of the 5th generation of Pelephone and the halting of the development of the fiber-optic interface at Bezeq International.

In addition, the committees announced a complete halt to the joint work between three Alpha companies: Pelephone, Bezeq International and Yes. At the same time, demonstrations will continue in front of the homes of Alpha Group executives.

It should be noted that the yes workers' committee, which is affiliated with the Histadrut, made it clear that it is not part of the strike, so they chose to act in other ways.

On Wednesday, a collective agreement was signed between the yes workers 'committee and the company's management, which according to the parties regulated the employees' social and pension rights, wage supplements and grants, wage-related conditions and more.

This is the company's second strike in recent days, after a question also struck last Tuesday.
