When the Murphy family moved into their new home in Lancashire last January they began redesigning the house, each room in turn. Earlier this month, when they went to redesign their daughter's room, they discovered a chilling post on the wall. It was Father Karl who tore up the wallpaper in his daughter's room when she stopped him and drew his attention to the message written below the wallpaper layer. The father said: "It was my daughter who first noticed it. We were in her bedroom and started taking off the first layer of wallpaper when we found it."

The family suspected the message was written by the previous owner of the home. After examining it closely, they realized that it was a message written 46 years ago that read: "I am here, you are there, separated by time only. How is it in the future? Or am I the past? The only answer to that - you are my future, I am your past. I I wish you a good day". The author - Eileen Wolmsley, signed her name at the end and added a date.

The family was so excited about the "Time Traveler" message that they decided to try to locate Eileen and tell her about it.

After sharing a photo of the post on Facebook, Carl was pleasantly surprised when a family friend contacted him and said she knew Wolmsley.

He told the Sun: "I thought I would bring it up for discussion and see if anyone knows her. One lady came back to me and said 'I know Eileen, I think she left. I'll try to contact her.'"

Not long after, Eileen - whose last name is now Palmer - contacted the family. She said: "I was very happy they found it. I was about 14 or 15. I vaguely remember writing it. I knew the bedroom was going to be redesigned and I thought, 'Either you're doing something or not.' She added: "I was thinking about time and time travel and how we are all connected. I thought to myself: 'Know what? I'll write a song.'"

Eileen moved into the house when she was 4 with her brother and sister, and her parents who worked at the local school. The room where Carl found the message was the bedroom where Eileen and her sister slept. Eileen said: "I'm glad I did it. It was our bedroom so it's pretty magical." When she turned 18, she moved to Brighton to attend university and rarely returned to her childhood home in Akrington. Eileen's parents, Dorothy and Francis Wolmsley, lived in Akrington for over 60 years until they passed away in 2016 and 2017.

The post not only brought up happy memories of Eileen, but she was also excited to see what the Murphy family did with the house.

She added: "Carl did an incredibly beautiful job at home. For me it was very sad when my parents died. We grew up in this home and we had so many memories. It reminded me of how I felt then, the romantic vision I had of life and how life changes and deserves generations. "I remember who I was then. This house is an important part of my life. I'm really glad they saw this post and glad it brought back so many memories of me."
