Ricardo López Murphy

this weekend shared

a barbecue and two concerns

with his candidates and collaborators in a room in Palermo: the objective of gathering the necessary prosecutors for the September 12 primaries, about 9,000, and raising the intention to vote in the strip along Rivadavia avenue, from Once to Liniers, an old bastion of radicalism.

In the so-called northern cordon, from Núñez to Recoleta, the numbers generate good expectations.

"With a significant difference in resources, we do what we can," he says in an interview with

Clarín

.

-In the Juntos intern, why should porteños vote for your list and not that of Vidal or Rubinstein?

-We represent firmness, a very broad renewal process and a very positive vision of the future, which implies a great transformation of Argentine society.

We are not going to get out of this with little things.

Our position is firmer.

We do not sympathize, coexist or chat with Kirchnerism, we believe that it is an expression that violates republican values.

-In the PRO, your intention to vote was surprised in some polls, are you too?

-No, we are making a great effort and we expect recognition from society, which is fortunately in front of us.

- Praise Patricia Bullrich for her management in Security, is she capturing part of the electorate that would have voted for her?

-I think so, although the accolades are derived from that.

It is a fair assessment of a very notable difference from the previous government's fight against organized crime compared to the present.

-Did Rodríguez Larreta promote his candidacy to avoid the flight of votes to Milei's list, as Rubinstein said?

-That is not true.

We promoted a great front that could do two tasks.

One, to prevent the hegemonic action of the Government and irreparable measures in the matter of the Public Ministry and the Justice system.

And on the other hand, a great coalition capable of making viable a government different from the current one and from the previous experience.

The space led by former minister Ricardo López Murphy, when he presented his list and the "letter of commitment" of what they will propose if they reach Congress.

-How much do you think Fabiola Yáñez's birthday meeting will affect the elections during the strict quarantine?

-It is a photo that causes great sadness.

It makes the word of the presidential institution lose value.

It undermines our ethics and our values, and just as serious is the incredible explanation of the problem, which 'is Fabiola's fault'.

The last thing missing was an act of cowardice of that magnitude.

In electoral terms, it is undoubtedly negative for the ruling front, such as the terrible malpractice in health matters.

We owe tens of thousands of deaths due to not having acquired in time and form the best vaccines in the world, as well as the terrible economic and social policy associated with the pandemic has been very negative.

It's hard to think how it could have been done worse.

-Why did you decide to compose the list with references without so much experience in politics?

-I think there is a recognition that politics is very distant from society.

And that gap had to be bridged.

We have put together a very hierarchical list, of the highest quality, and we need that to produce renewal in politics and the very expectation of victory in the primaries, where only a very transformative attitude is capable of illuminating such success.

Criticism in and out

-Vidal says they share ideas but the one who has been in office for 14 years in the City is the PRO, what do you answer?

- We say that the very great renovation of the political cadres tries to overcome this crisis of the public opinion that requests a total renovation of the policy.

The problem is when you don't know where you are going.

With us the course is very clear.

-What do you think of the efforts of Macri and Rodríguez Larreta in the City?

-We have had a critical attitude and we are not going to change.

We come to broaden the alternative spectrum, not to hide our differences, with a very broad freedom of opinion.

We value our membership in the coalition.

-What are your specific criticisms?

-We would not have followed the government's policies in education, we would have gone for face-to-face education much earlier.

We would have been more assertive when the government plundered the City's resources.

The economist Ricardo López Murphy, candidate for the Buenos Aires intern of Juntos por el Cambio.

-He said that he competes against an immense apparatus.

Does Rodríguez Larreta use the City's resources for the campaign, as stated by Manes?

-What I am saying is that the apparatus of the entire pre-existing coalition, facing United Republicans, should not be underestimated.

Our media availability is different.

We are encouraged by a formidable spirit and very transformative ideas.

It would be foolish not to recognize that we have a very politically successful apparatus in front of us and that it works like clockwork.

Hopefully society knows how to vote, we need a massive vote.

We are constructive, we know that we have to form a great coalition capable of defeating Krichnerism.

We do not confuse who our main enemy is.

-For that "great coalition" you also contemplated the so-called libertarians.

Why was there no agreement?

-We were in favor of José Luis Espert joining the broad coalition in the province of Buenos Aires.

Unfortunately it could not be specified.

The case of Javier Milei is different, he has a disqualifying vision of the ruling party and all the opposition alike.

For us, the "nurse" Zannini (the Treasury Attorney was vaccinated as "health personnel") is very different from Patricia Bullrich.

-Do you support Rodríguez Larreta's aspirations as president?

-We are aware that the elections will affect projections for the future.

It is natural that we wait for the result to make inferences.

We act cooperatively and have the best confidence in our own strength to influence this process.

Nobody has the oregano field for the future.

-And a "second half" by Macri?

-We are trying to accumulate the greatest amount of forces and avoid taking refuge in the past and in previous confrontations to project our efforts.

It is true that we welcome everyone to build an immense coalition that removes that ominous and dark presence of Kirchnerism from our future.

Ricardo López Murphy and José Luis Espert.

They negotiated to present themselves as allies but will go separate.

-One of the discussions in this campaign: to what extent is the deterioration of the economy the Macri government's responsibility and how much of the current government's decisions?

-The current government received almost balanced public finances and the external accounts resolved.

It was a terrible handling of the pandemic.

And a very conflictive attitude with investment, with private initiative and property rights, which has magnified the crisis.

We were very critical of Macri, nobody ignores that in economic matters that management failed and we maintain that judgment.

We need a major reform to overcome a long stalemate.

Controversy over its adjustment and the missing

-You were marked by your brief tenure as Minister of Economy of the Alliance, do you regret any of the measures you tried to implement?

-I think that with the virtue that time gives us, we now know that if we had acted with the appropriate firmness, we would have avoided the terrible crisis of 2002 for the country. When one looks at the European crisis of the past decade, the countries followed a very similar policy. to which we would have proposed.

How different would the country be today if instead of the populist and wasteful adventure we had followed a responsible and serious path in macroeconomic policy.

-Would you take those same measures today?

Would the public university adjust?

-There was no adjustment to the public university, it was a minimal question.

Between 1992 and 2000 the resources had risen 100%.

That is not the current situation, they have not been our current proposals.

What we would do is return a primary role in the development of Argentina to the private sector and not overwhelm it with a statist and collectivist program of a capitalism of friends with a deficit of 40,000 million dollars that only leads us to disaster.

-Discussed the number of 30,000 disappeared and spoke of an "internal conflict."

Do you hold that position?

-I reflected what the ruling of case 13 (Trial of the Boards) says, where the judges of democracy tried the heads of the military dictatorship.

In that ruling, they speak of the revolutionary war, of the attack by guerrilla organizations on the rule of law.

Of course, whatever the number, what happened in Argentina was a tragedy.

I never minimized it.

- Do you put State terrorism on the same level as that of guerrilla organizations?

-I have never been wrong.

The responsibility of the State is greater.

What should not be forgotten is that the guerrilla organizations have tried to destroy the rule of law, impose a totalitarian regime and definitively destroy the freedom of the Argentines.
