Among them, the mainland official media published a commentary on the Education Association earlier, accusing it of "inciting violence" in the past, describing it as a "tumor" and "must be eradicated."
After that, the Education Association tried to change its image, passed resolutions to focus on education, and planned to set up a "Chinese History and Culture Working Group" to promote Chinese history, national conditions and culture, so as to cultivate students' national feelings.
However, the state media did not "buy" the changes to the Educational Association. In the end, the Educational Association decided that it was unable to resolve the crisis. Last Tuesday (August 10), it announced that it had entered the dissolution process.
One day later, the news that the FDC will be dissolved spread like wildfire. By noon on Sunday (August 15), this 19-year-old political platform issued a statement announcing its dissolution with immediate effect.
The FDC holds the "July 1st Parade" every year and is familiar to the people of Hong Kong. The Education Association has been established for 48 years. It is not only the largest trade union in a single industry in Hong Kong, but also deeply rooted in the Hong Kong education community. Ren Situ Hua is even more recognized as the "Greater China Glue" and a representative figure of the "Return of Democracy."
