Will they succeed in removing the isolation back to Israel? A lawsuit was filed in the High Court | Israel Today

Recent attempts to abolish isolation in returnees from abroad: This morning, a group of vacation lines filed a lawsuit in the High Court demanding intervention in a decision requiring returnees to stay in full isolation back from all countries around the world, except for ten.

If there is no last-minute surprise, all returnees, from all over the world, except 10 countries, will be required to go into full isolation for seven days, subject to two corona tests back in Israel.

The tourism industry finds it difficult to come to terms with the decision and claims that it was made on the basis of incorrect data, erroneous estimates and that the harm is disproportionate.

This morning, the vacation lines company filed a lawsuit in the High Court demanding that the decision be overturned, a day before it was debated in the Knesset.

A debate will be held tomorrow during which the Knesset is expected to approve the decision.

Last week, the Knesset did not approve the Ministry of Health's recommendation to require wearing masks in open spaces and talks with Knesset officials. They explain that there is a certain chance that this time, too, the committee will not approve the Ministry of Health's recommendation.

In the lawsuit filed this morning, the plaintiffs claim, among other things, that the model built by the Ministry of Health is unbalanced because it defined all but ten countries in the world as countries whose return requires isolation.

The lawsuit claims that there is a real danger to the employment of many workers in the tourism industry and that the decision is ineffective in helping to curb the epidemic in Israel.

The lawsuit also makes comparisons to actions that are still allowed in Israel and they claim may be more dangerous than flying to a country where the level of morbidity is low.

The US, UK and Germany operate differently

The plaintiff presents policies of many states regarding the isolation of the vaccinated.

According to him, the list of countries that do not require vaccinated in isolation includes, among others, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Norway, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Belgium and Portugal.

The plaintiff presents another series of allegations in the hope that the High Court will intervene in the government's decision and avoid the obligation of isolation for returning vaccinated people from all over the world. The law firm representing the vacation lines in the lawsuit is Yigal Borochovsky & Co.
