The will of those responsible is there, only the details still depend on the decisions of the federal government.
One thing is certain, however: After the corona-related cancellation last year, there will be another Advent magic at Tegernsee this year.

- Come together at the nicely decorated and atmospherically lit huts, enjoy mulled wine, warming delicacies and the contemplative atmosphere. Maybe even experience the Rottacher Advent, the Tegernsee Christmas Castle Market and the Bad Wiessee Sea Advent in a three-pack thanks to the shuttle ship and shuttle - this was last possible in 2019. Then Corona came, and all major events, whether forest festival, lake festival or Advent markets, were canceled. Only an "Advent Hiking" was organized by the Rottacher Verkehrsverein 2020.
Now the three municipalities of Tegernsee, Rottach-Egern and Bad Wiessee, as well as Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT) as coordinator, have clearly announced their intention: on all four Advent weekends, the Advent markets are to open in the three locations.
"The first step has been taken, now we have to wait for the decisions of the government that will be made with regard to the Germany-wide Advent and Christmas markets," says a message from the TTT.
Only then will it be examined in detail in which form these resolutions will be implemented for the respective markets.
Tegernsee Advent: Preparations have started
The organization has now started.
According to TTT spokeswoman Ines Wagner, the municipalities are already making contact with the longstanding exhibitors.
It is already clear that the markets will be smaller, both in terms of the number of exhibitors and restaurateurs as well as the number of admitted visitors.
So far, between 20 and 30 exhibitors have attracted visitors to stroll through the respective markets.
"How many there will be this year is still open", says Ines Wagner.
In order to regulate the number of visitors, the possibility of a digital admission system is already being examined - "a kind of entry counter", according to the spokeswoman.
Therefore, it will then be necessary to fence in the Advent markets and provide them with an entrance and an exit.
It is already clear, however, that there will be no shuttle ships. "They were always well frequented, but because of the necessary distance rules that couldn't be done," emphasized the TTT spokeswoman. However, it is still being examined whether the normal ships of the line can, within their capabilities, enable at least a small number of passengers to visit several markets in one go. After the government decision, which is expected in September, the TTT wants to invite the participants of the “Advent working group” to work out the implementation and the supporting program. "The hygiene concept is developed accordingly by the TTT in consultation with the health department," says the TTT. In October, a concept for the Tegernsee Advent, coordinated with the district office and the municipalities, should be available.
Tegernsee Advent Magic 2021: Mainly overnight guests are advertised
The TTT does not want to raise the bar this year.
"In order to do justice to the reduced number of visitors, the markets should only be advertised nationwide for overnight guests," explains Peter Rie, head of the events department at TTT.
Wagner emphasizes that they have a completely different added value than day guests.
It can be assumed that they will flock to the markets.
