Munich - Many cities want to become more climate-friendly.
That's why many try to get commuters excited about e-mobility.
The promoted alternatives also include electric scooters, which combine many advantages.
They can keep up with the cars in the city at speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour and there are hardly any parking problems with them.
But the environmentally friendly means of transport is not cheap.
A Unu Scooter Plus with 5.4 HP and a range of up to 100 kilometers costs 3899 euros.
In order to make the purchase of an e-scooter attractive to their citizens, many municipalities are funding their purchase.
As a rule, the application must be made before the purchase.
In most cases there is no subsequent funding.
Cash injections for electric scooters: Munich grants the highest funding
In many cases, the municipalities use their municipal utilities to offer grants.
Most often the requirement is that the applicant is a customer of the electricity supplier.
The grants range from 50 euros in Wiesbaden to 1900 euros in Munich.
This makes Munich the city in Germany that grants the highest subsidy for the purchase of an e-scooter. The grant is made up of different components. When purchasing a new e-scooter, the applicant receives funding of up to 1200 euros, with a maximum of 25 percent of the net purchase price. Anyone who scraps a scooter with a combustion engine will receive a scrapping bonus of 500 euros. Those who fill up with green electricity, i.e. who have an ecological electricity collective agreement, receive an additional 200 euros. The subsidized e-scooter must be registered with the owner for at least 36 months.
Here is a sample calculation with the Unu Scooter Plus.
With a gross price of 3899 euros, the net price is around 3276 euros.
Since the subsidy is limited to 25 percent of the net price, the subsidy amounts to 819 euros.
If there is a scrapping bonus and proof of charging with green electricity, the amount increases to 1519 euros.
The own share for the purchase sinks to 2380 euros.
Cash injections for electric scooters: Fürstenfeldbruck at the forefront
Fürstenfeldbruck also supports the purchase of an e-scooter.
For the vehicle itself there is up to 750 euros, a maximum of 25 percent of the purchase price.
In addition, there is an allowance of 200 euros if the applicant can prove that he is getting green electricity from the power station or his own system.

Sigmaringen
: The applicant must be a customer of the Stadtwerke and keep the vehicle for at least two years.
Wiesbaden
: The applicant must be a customer of Stadtwerke Wiesbaden.
Kaarst
: The applicant must be an electricity customer from Stadtwerke Kaarst.
Financial injections for electric scooters: 100 euros subsidy is available in the following municipalities
Karlsruhe
: The applicant must have a green electricity contract with the Stadtwerke Karlsruher and buy the scooter at the "Zweiradzentrum Karlsruhe".
Solingen
: The applicant must be a customer of Stadtwerke Solingen
Financial injections for electric scooters: 150 euros subsidy is available in the following municipalities
Langen
: The applicant must be a customer of Stadtwerke Langen and have chosen the electricity tariffs “Classic”, “Premium” or “Öko-pur”.
Half the rate is available for the Internet tariffs "Premium direkt" and "Öko-pur" direkt.
Wuppertal
: The applicant must be a customer of the Wuppertaler Stadtwerke.
The application can be submitted up to two months after purchase.
Konstanz
: The applicant must be a customer of Stadtwerke Konstanz.
Financial injections for electric scooters: 200 euros subsidy is available in the following municipalities
Mainz
: The applicant must be a customer of the Mainzer Stadtwerke.
Marburg
: The applicant must be a customer of the Stadtwerke.
Funding is limited to ten percent of the net price.
Tübingen
: The applicant must be a green electricity customer of Stadtwerke Tübingen.
Simple electricity or gas customers receive a subsidy of 150 euros.
The money is for the purchase of a "TüStrom scooter" from the Niu brand.
Anyone who buys a different type of scooter receives a grant of 100 euros.
The condition is a green electricity contract.
Financial injections for electric scooters: 250 euros subsidy is available in the following municipalities
District of Erlangen
: The district of Erlangen gives 200 euros to the purchase of an e-scooter.
Anyone who also uses green electricity or has their own photovoltaic system receives an additional 50 euros.
Hagen
: The applicant must be a customer of the Mark E energy company.
The purchase of a Swiss Kito scooter is funded.
Financial injections for electric scooters: A grant of 380 euros is available in the following municipality
Kassel
: The applicant must be a customer of Stadtwerke Kassel.
Only the purchase of a Niu electric scooter is funded.
Financial injections for electric scooters: A grant of 400 euros is available in the following municipalities
Lüdenscheid
: Stadtwerke Lüdenscheid grant the subsidy for the purchase of a Kito scooter.
Würzburg
: The Würzburger Versorgungs- und Verkehrs-GmbH grants the subsidy for the purchase of a Kito scooter.
Financial injections for electric scooters: 500 euros subsidy is available in the following municipalities
Aachen
: As a customer of Stadtwerke Aachen, the applicant must have booked the “ÖkoPlus” electricity tariff and live in the Aachen area.
Bünde
: The applicant must be a customer of the energy supplier EWB.
A discount of EUR 125 is granted on the electricity bill for four years.
Financial injections for electric scooters: 1000 euros subsidy is available in the following municipalities
Friedrichshafen
: The city of Friedrichshafen grants a subsidy of up to 1000 euros, a maximum of 20 percent of the purchase price if you have a green electricity supply contract or your own electricity generation.
Heidelberg
: The city of Heidelberg grants a subsidy of up to 1,000 euros, up to a maximum of 20 percent of the purchase price for applicants residing within the city.
Regensburg
: The city of Regensburg grants a subsidy of up to 1000 euros, up to a maximum of 25 percent of the net price.
A green electricity contract or your own photovoltaic system must be proven.
The vehicle must be registered in Regensburg and remain in the applicant's possession for at least 36 months.
During this time, the “Regensburg mobil” sticker must be attached to the vehicle.
