She has accompanied generations of Steinkirchners through their childhood, now the big farewell was announced: Christine Floßmann, long-time director of the Steinkirchner Kinderhaus St. Johannes has retired.

Steinkirchen

- Christina Floßmann is leaving the Steinkirchen children's home after 23 years.

The successor of the long-time director will be Angelika Weber, previous deputy.

Floßmann looks back with pleasure and gratitude on her 31 professional years, 23 of them in Steinkirchen. After her school education, her career choice led her to become a teacher at the Caritas Academy for Social Pedagogy in Munich. She then worked from 1980 to May 1987 in the parish kindergarten St. Johannes in Erding, the last four four years of which as director. After a short detour to the Fraunberg kindergarten, she said goodbye on parental leave in order to be there for her three children.

When her youngest son got a place in the kindergarten in 1997 in the still relatively new Steinkirchen Kinderhaus, she took up a part-time position as an educator in another group. In 2001 she took over the management. A fulfilling job, group in the morning, office in the afternoon, as she reports. She started with two groups and 45 children. There are now four groups and 80 children in Steinkirchen. The Steinkirchner Kinderhaus and four other facilities have been part of the Taufkirchen KiTa network since 2015.

From the years in the children's home, she takes memories of a varied, exciting, and sometimes challenging time with her, says Floßmann. Singing and making music together and maintaining traditions are particularly important to her. Whether it was the church events like St. Martin, Advent or Easter, or the dance around the maypole, the summer or the end of the year, there was a special highlight in every season. She organized many celebrations with her team and the parents' council. Families were always very much involved in the celebrations, and that was something that was very important to her.

She is grateful that the cooperation with the Schröding elementary school and the Steinkirchen community went so well, Floßmann emphasizes.

The accompaniment by the pastors in the neighboring rectory on various occasions also went very well.

To say goodbye, the children, the parents' council and colleagues came up with something they wrote themselves with songs and verses.

As a present, she was given a very special retirement bank.
