The axes of the first medical symposium organized today by the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus and the Syrian-Russian Peace Initiative in Al-Assad Library focused on the Corona virus, its nature, developments, future prospects, and its impact on fertility and pregnancy.

The doctors participating in the symposium, which was held in honor of the efforts of the White Army in Syria to confront the virus, also discussed the role of radiation in detecting the virus and controlling infection in dental clinics, the effects of the epidemic on autism spectrum disorder and people with disabilities, and the management of oncology patients during the pandemic.

The organizer of the symposium and the medical director of the initiative, Dr. Fadi Isani, explained in his speech that the symposium aims to honor the health cadres who fought and confronted the virus, pointing to the role of scientific lectures in shedding light on the developments of this epidemic to spread awareness and conduct studies and scientific research about it.

In the speech of the Syrian-Russian Peace Initiative, its director, Ahmed al-Koud, stated that the initiative was launched within a humanitarian framework aimed at good and peace with its scientific, economic and social capabilities, and to emphasize the depth of relations between the two countries, pointing to the importance of the symposium in terms of exchanging experiences.

The Captain of Doctors, Dr. Kamal Amer, expressed his thanks for the unlimited support provided by Russia to the Syrian people in various fields, including the health field, especially in the face of the Corona epidemic, pointing to the role played by the Syndicate alongside the Ministry of Health since the early days of the emergence of the epidemic, as it was a real partner in the confrontation process. and awareness, and lost more than 100 doctors from its cadres during the face of the virus.

Adviser to the Russian Cultural Center, Ali Al-Ahmad, praised the efforts of the Syrian health cadres in addressing this pandemic in order to protect society with the support of NGOs, pointing to the role of the center in supporting initiatives in this field.

On the sidelines of the symposium, 17 male and female doctors of various scientific specialties were honored for their role in confronting the virus during their work in hospitals, health centers and private clinics.

The Director of Hospitals at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ahmed Dhamiriya, drew attention to the importance of this initiative, which appreciates the efforts of medical staff that will complete the path of colleagues who have given their lives in order to confront the virus.

Dr. Issam Al-Amin, Director General of Al-Mowasat University Hospital, pointed out that what health cadres are doing is a national and professional duty to serve citizens, considering that the honor is a motive to continue and work as one team.

Dr. Nabough Al-Awa, a professor at Damascus University, saw that the honor, which included all medical specialties, is an initiative that encourages doctors and appreciates their efforts at the level of the country and unions, hoping that it will continue to include resident doctors and the young group of them to push them and motivate them to continue work.

Dr. Marwan Al-Halabi, Scientific Deputy to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University, said that the honoring is a distinct initiative to support the efforts of the White Army, including doctors, pharmacists, nurses and technicians, who joined forces to confront the epidemic despite the difficult circumstances that Syria is facing.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Aseel, a specialist in vascular surgery residing in Moscow, pointed out that he was one of the first volunteers in the fight against Covid 19 in Moscow, where Russian doctors worked with their Syrian counterparts, who gained more experiences that can be transferred to our country.
