Predatory fish caught in a pool in a mall in the center of the country Israel today

Inspectors from the Ministry of Agriculture today (Sunday) caught a crocodile fish in an ornamental pond in a shopping complex in the South.

It all started when a complaint was received at the office hotline on suspicion of holding a carnivorous fish in place. 

When inspectors from the Ministry of Agriculture arrived, they discovered the strain and size of the fish, which is no less than a meter long.

A few days before the complaint, a woman was bitten when she put her hand in the pool.

In view of the danger, the inspectors caught the fish with the help of special equipment.

It is still unclear how the fish got to the pond, and the case is under investigation by the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the fishing regulations, the possession of this fish in Israel is prohibited.

This is an attack fish that, according to inspectors from the Ministry of Agriculture, could even kill a person.

It feeds mainly on fish and waterfowl, and can reach a length of two meters.

The name of the crocodile fish was given to it due to its nose, similar to that of a crocodile.

It originates in freshwater bodies in North America, and is not at all accustomed to Israel's weather conditions.
