At 4 o'clock in the morning, a Honda JAZZ private car was on Mount Austin Road on the top of the mountain. Suspected of a sudden fire, the driver and two male passengers immediately abandoned the car and escaped. The car then slid forward and crashed into a low wall.
The firefighter arrived at the scene and opened its throat to put out the fire, but the whole car was burned.
It is reported that the male driver injured his hands and took a taxi to Ruttonjee Hospital in Wan Chai for medical treatment; while the two passengers were taken to Queen Mary Hospital by ambulance.
The fire department is investigating the cause of the fire.
