The Russian ambassador in Kabul will
meet with the Taliban on Tuesday
in the Afghan capital, reported Afghanistan's official in the Kremlin, Zamir Kabulov, who said that his country will decide whether or not to recognize the authorities of the insurgents
based on their " actions "
.
"Our ambassador (Dmitri Jirnov) is in contact with the Taliban leaders and tomorrow (Tuesday) he will meet with the Taliban coordinator for security" to mention especially
issues related to the security of the
Russian
embassy
in Kabul, Kabulov told the Ekho Moskvy radio.
The Taliban "already guarantee the security of the outer perimeter of the Russian embassy. Tomorrow (Tuesday) they will talk about this long-term issue," he said.

Kabulov explained that "recognition or not
will depend on the actions of this new regime
."
"We will look carefully to what extent their approach to the country's government is responsible ... And the Russian authorities will draw the necessary conclusions," he added.
Russia said on Sunday that it
did not foresee an evacuation of its embassy
in Kabul, assuring that they had received "guarantees" from the Taliban on the security of their diplomatic mission.
"Although it may seem surprising, the situation is calm at the moment" in Kabul, Kabulov said.

Afghanistan was in the hands of the Taliban on Monday, who in record time managed to seize control of the country and finally entered Kabul on Sunday, causing the collapse of the government and the flight of President Ashraf Ghani.
"We have
overestimated the armed forces of Afghanistan
. They abandoned everything as soon as they heard the first shot," Kabulov said Monday.
The ambassador in Kabul, Dmitri Jirnov, told Russian television Russia 24 that the Taliban had restored "public order" in Kabul and guaranteed the security of the diplomatic headquarters.
"Russia wants Afghanistan to be
civilized, free from terrorism and drugs
and to maintain good relations with all the countries of the world," Jirnov said.
And "the Taliban have promised us all that and we hope they will keep their promises," he added.
As a positive sign, he said that "the girls' schools continue to function."
Russia has
tried to strengthen its relations with the Taliban
in recent years and received their representatives in Moscow on several occasions, the last one last month.
