The new Quilmes Sur station could soon be a reality.

Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura (ADIF) has already launched the tender to start the construction of this Roca train stop that will be located

between Quilmes and Ezpeleta.

The objective is to "reduce" the distance in various sections of this southern railway line, which, in many cases, has

several kilometers of distance

between one point and another.

The new station, in fact, will be about

two kilometers from the Quilmes station

and about 1.5

kilometers

north of the Ezpeleta station, specifically between Andrade / Lugones and Agote / Güiraldes streets.

It is one of the six announced by the state company that manages the trains of the Metropolitan Area.

The other five will be distributed in the municipalities of Ezeiza, Avellaneda, Almirante Brown and Florencio Varela.

"The location of the new station benefits citizens by incorporating

an east-west crossing

, which consists of a wide, bright and safe tunnel, both for linking platforms and for pedestrian traffic," they detailed from the

Ministry of Transport.

The one in Quilmes is the first of the four future stations being put out to tender by the Government.

It will be 500 meters from the

Club Quilmes

stadium

and the Municipal Sports Center.

"As it is located near Andrade street, it improves accessibility to the Quilmes Atlético Club football stadium by public transport, minimizes the impact on neighboring residential fronts and improves the surrounding public and green spaces," they explained.

In this way, the loading and unloading of passengers would be streamlined, the number of people on top of the formations would be alleviated and the sections on foot or by bus that users must do when they get off the train and they still have to travel many blocks to reach destination.

The choice of this place arises from

a historical request from the neighbors

, who needed an intermediate stop depending on the movement of people that there is daily in the area and the population growth in recent years.

Since July last year, several meetings were held between the then Minister of Transport, the recently deceased

Mario Meoni

, members of the local executive and neighborhood groups.

The other five

This is

one of several

stations that were announced for the region.

The

Roca railway

will add two new stations on the Ezeiza-Cañuelas branch.

One will be

at the Alberto Antranik Eurnekian Hospital,

between the Ezeiza and Unión Ferroviaria stations, and the other

in the Los Nogales area,

between Unión Ferroviaria and Tristán Suárez.

Last week, the president of the Ministry of Transport, Martín Marinucci, visited the works that are being carried out at the Ezeiza station and in Spegazzini, accompanied by the interim mayor, Gastón Granados.

During the visit, two collaboration agreements were signed between Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura, and the Municipality of Ezeiza, which involve carrying out "feasibility studies", as detailed by Adif, the Administrator of Railway Infrastructure.

“That is why we have not yet counted the exact location.

The commune has its own land on the side of the roads, that is one of the reasons why it will be studied ”, they explain in Adif.

And they add: “By the way, the 1,200-meter-long environment visited by the president of Argentine Trains, Martín Marinucci, and the interim mayor, Gastón Granados, is carried out on land in the commune.

In particular, the Ezeiza hospital station seeks to facilitate accessibility for those who must approach the local hospital ”.

The creation of a new station, as they explain, will increase and guarantee the safety of the region, in addition to that of passengers.

The idea is that these stations provide “better connectivity and quality of life for passengers on the Roca line, who will save more time.” While the remaining station responds to one of the axes of the transport modernization plan railway, promoted by the Ministry of Transport.

“It is about allowing the development of each person hand in hand with a safe and comfortable urban transport.

These works provide answers to the needs of the neighbors while changing the paradigm of the community around each station, with more security ”, they highlight from Adif.

In this regard, Granados explained: "The Hospital Station will benefit all residents of La Unión and Villa Golf", while Los Nogales is "ideal for the residents of La Porteña and the Glorias del Deporte neighborhood."

The works include tasks in the surroundings of the Ezeiza station, along the 12 de Octubre avenue, which will serve as a connection with the next station of the municipal hospital.

There will be sectors for recreation, a bike path, an aerobic walk, and urban equipment will be installed so that the neighbors can enjoy the space.

There will also be a new station for the

Korn

branch

, which will be located between

Burzaco and Longchamps

, designed for the National University of Almirante Brown.

This study house is in the historic

Quinta Rocca de Burzaco,

whose entrances are located 400 and 650 meters from the future station.

At the same time, a new station

for Avellaneda

is also on the agenda

, between the stations "Kosteki y Santillán" and "Sarandí", at the height of Avenida Güemes.

"This work will be essential to improve circulation to and from different parts of the city, as it is located in a central area of Avellaneda," they highlighted from that Commune.

In parallel, they will build

a low-level crossing

at the height of Calle Otero, in

Villa Domínico.

The new Quilmes Sur station will be between the current Quilmes and Ezpeleta

Finally, the construction of a station between

Claypole and Ardigó

had also been proposed

for the Via Circuito service (by Temperley and by Quilmes).

These stations, which will now have one more between them, are 3.5 kilometers apart from each other.

About the recently tendered Quilmes Sur station, the plans have already been published and the idea is that it has a modern design and similar to the stations of the Roca trace that were

renovated in recent years

, with LED lighting and accesses for the entrance. of people with motor disabilities.

In addition, it will have a pedestrian tunnel to cross the tracks more safely and complementary works will be carried out in the nearby streets to improve the entire environment of the new station.

The duration of the work

is 10 months

and the construction of two 210-meter-long elevated platforms is planned, the ticket office building, access controls, passenger shelters, signage and accessibility ramps.

The works plan along the various branches of the Roca Railway also foresees the replacement of barriers by low-level crossings, some of which are already under construction.

Such is the case of the one on

Avenida San Martín

, on the border between Adrogué and Burzaco, which will have the capacity for long-distance trucks and buses and will be the largest in

Almirante Brown.

Also, the one that began to be built on the north side of the

Banfield

station

, where the Rincón street barrier is currently located.
