A report by Journalism for All, Jorge Lanata's program revealed that 400 million pesos, destined for aid, "went up in smoke" in Lago Puelo, Chubut, where in March an unprecedented fire devastated the city.

Then the Government promised to

repair or manufacture affected homes

and ordered a series of emergency items that included ATN (advances from the National Treasury) and funds from the Habitat Secretariat that added the millionaire item that the journalist of the cycle Cecilia Boufflet, in charge of the report, exposed and sent to the Patagonian area.

The main destination of the funds was to deliver 250 emergency homes, quickly, for those who lost their homes to the fire.

But PPT relieved and revealed that

there are no houses delivered so far

.

A victim of the Lake Puelo fires, in an overview of the devastation, denounces the absence of help.

Now, in court, the attorney general of the province Carlos Díaz Mayer, is investigating whether the ATN

paid surcharges

in purchases and

favored a single supplier

.

It is that the Municipality acquired through

direct purchases

the supplies in

a store in El Bolsón

, while in the town of Lago Puelo there were bidders who presented cheaper proposals.

In the report they presented some examples of this investigation: that the municipal government bought water tanks at 38 thousand pesos that had prices for 18 thousand and

toilets

for 33 thousand pesos that cost 22 thousand.

Councilor Ramiro Ibarra, from the Crecer neighborhood party, was the one who filed the complaint in court, and after doing so, his local party was vandalized.

"They were agreements that were quickly approved by the Deliberative Council because it was understood that they

were solutions for 15 or 30 days, at most,

so that people have a temporary place to live," said the mayor, interviewed for PPT Box.

And he added: "In 10 days we should have had people living in their emergency module and unfortunately it

is six months and there is not a single neighbor

who is living in the module of the Lago Puelo municipality."

Chipboard modules, in the cold of the South

The report included the testimonies of several victims who showed the supposed emergency houses that they were offered,

none of them finished

.

They are

precarious modules

, made of chipboard with unfinished openings -the report showed the

cracks

through which the Patagonian wind blew-, without glass and with

doors that do not close

because the wood was not treated and swelled and left square.

Without internal divisions in the small boxes that resemble a container, with exposed electrical wiring and without any service yet, they are uninhabitable for the extreme conditions of the area.

In addition, the fabrications are

raised on logs of wood

recovered from the fires themselves, without treatment, which the neighbors say will rot in less than a year.

And without stairs, entry is difficult, even more so for older people affected.

Journalist Cecilia Boufflet tries to enter an unfinished module in Lago Puelo.

This is the case of Ivana Trangol's mother.

Both lost their houses to the fire.

"They gave us an aid of 400 thousand pesos. They did not give my mother

any money, but a module

. She is an older woman. Someone is going to have to raise her because she cannot go up without a ladder," he said at the door of the building. unfinished that they assigned to him: it is almost a meter from the ground.

"

No one has come for a month," he

denounced. "We don't know if this is going to turn out.

There is no electricity, gas, water, nothing

. The windows are just put on like that and they lack a glass."

As he showed the conditions of what should be the place where his family should stay, he could not contain his tears.

"My mother did not come to see this. She is discouraged, very sad," he said.

The crying was also moving in Ángel Oyarzo, also a victim of the fires and a firefighter who acted to appease them.

"We were there until 6.30 in the morning until my wife called me and said 'we have a light bulb behind the house', said the forest fire brigade and could not continue speaking." When we arrived it was all dust, "he added from the beach. Black who remained from his house. "No one from the Government came," he added.

From PPT they reported that they tried to contact the mayor Augusto Sánchez, but he never responded to the calls.

The same happened with the Ministry of Territorial Development and Habitat of the Nation, in charge of Jorge Ferraresi.
