A mainland man surnamed Miao (24 years old) reportedly had a naked chat with someone on the dating app "Soul" earlier, during which he was taken indecent photos and extorted 5,000 yuan in cash.
The victim was unwilling to be threatened and failed to make payment. As of 9pm yesterday (17th), he called the police at Cheong Wan Road in Hung Hom for help.
The police temporarily classified the case as "extortion" and handed it over to the Criminal Investigation Team of the Kowloon City Police District for follow-up.
It is understood that Miao Nan is a mainland student of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
