The number of corona cases in Bavaria continues to increase.

Classroom teaching should still be possible - but without vaccination campaigns.

Munich - The 7-day incidence * in Bavaria continues to rise.

On Monday (August 16) it was still 27.2, for Tuesday the RKI reports a value of 28. In some circles the incidence has climbed over the decisive 50 limit in the last few days.

There are currently seven districts above the border, as reported by the RKI (as of August 17).

The city of Rosenheim and the district of Berchtesgadener Land are now over 50 again for the first time.

Corona in Bavaria: seven districts above the decisive incidence limit

Five districts in Bavaria exceeded the incidence limit on the weekend.

Stricter Corona * rules now apply there.

These include the city of Weiden in the Upper Palatinate and the districts of Dachau, Dingolfing-Lindau, Dillingen an der Donau and Mühldorf an der Inn.

For example, the residents have to adjust to compulsory testing in numerous areas.

Yesterday the city of Bamberg also exceeded the 50 limit, but today the value is just below it again.

If the incidence in the city of Rosenheim and the district of Berchtesgadener Land is over 50 in the next few days, restrictions will soon apply there too.

Bavarian Ministry of Culture is not planning any vaccination campaigns in schools

In Bavaria, discussions are currently underway on how classroom operations at schools can be maintained after the start of the new school year in mid-September despite the expected increase in the number of infections.

From February to July 2021, the Free State bought rapid tests * for testing schoolchildren for 416 million euros.

The opposition party proposes the more reliable PCR pool tests instead of the rapid antigen tests.

Bavaria is currently not planning any large-scale vaccination campaigns for schoolchildren in schools.

"Vaccination is an individual decision and not a prerequisite for going to school," said a spokesman for the Ministry of Culture on Tuesday when asked by the dpa.

"Vaccinations generally take place in the vaccination centers and in general practitioners' practices," he emphasized.

Among other things, the SPD and the Greens had called for fast and low-threshold vaccination campaigns, which should start during the summer vacation if possible.

Vaccinated students would be exempt from the obligation to test

In individual cases, however, vaccination campaigns can also take place in schools if municipalities, schools and vaccination centers so wish and coordinate with one another.

Fully vaccinated pupils are still bound by the hygiene rules in schools - such as wearing masks and keeping their distance.

However, you would be released from the obligation to have regular corona tests.
