Ulrich Bode (59) lives with his three children in a blended family in Eichenau.

The married, self-employed IT consultant and long-time Bruck district councilor was born in Munich - and now wants to represent the Bruck / Dachau constituency in the Bundestag.

Eichenau - He has been the spokesman for independent IT specialists for many years as well as a representative of IT in the Federal Association of Liberal Professions and in other professional associations.

He has been a member of the district council for the FDP since 2002, and has been a member of the Eichenau municipal council since 2016.

Bode is parliamentary group leader and speaker for digitization and IT in both committees.

Mr. Bode, why exactly should you and no one else move into the Bundestag?

In the German Bundestag I will work for a basic income (citizens' benefit).

In my new book “Sozial 4.0 instead of Hartz IV” I worked out the details.

Less bureaucracy, more help.

Less sanction, more motivation.

This requires a structural reform of the funding systems in connection with the digitization of public administration.

This is also a blueprint for the overdue renewal in Germany.

As a computer scientist, I want to and can drive implementation.

For this I ask voters for their support.

What are the main challenges facing the Fürstenfeldbruck / Dachau constituency?

Too many have to commute because we have too few companies in the constituency.

We need more companies with attractive and promising jobs.

Living and working must move closer together again.

Working from home is an option, but not the solution.

Of course, it is also important to strengthen mobility, for example with the expansion of the S 4.

Another important point is real estate prices and affordable housing.

Housing is another key challenge.

The missing living space has to be built simply and purposefully.

We also need more residential property instead of rent.

Germany brings up the rear when it comes to the home ownership rate in the EU.

And the construction costs have to go down.

All of this requires a comprehensive package of measures, from the exemption for trade tax to KfW funding programs and digital building applications.

Do you have a political role model?

Not an individual, I like to learn from different personalities, such as Helmut Schmidt's crisis management, Hans-Dietrich Genscher's persistence or Angela Merkel's handling of special characters.

Formulate your three most important political goals in Twitter format.

Implement basic income!

Implement digital administration!

And finally, finally, install professional crisis management.

What is your favorite hobby outside of politics?

Read and write books.

I use Facebook in the election campaign because ...?

... it belongs in politics.

But I prefer direct conversations with people, even if, as a computer scientist, I have a lot to do professionally with digital media.

A conversation at an FDP information booth, for example, cannot replace Facebook.

My favorite place in the constituency is ...

... at home, of course.

But we have many beautiful places in the constituency.

I have the shortest route to the Flori restaurant in Eichenau.

What would be the most important topic for your inaugural speech in the Bundestag?

Implement basic income!

At the FDP, basic income has been part of the election program under the term Bürgergeld since 1994.

The details are in my book “Social 4.0 instead of Hartz IV”.

Which visual artist would you like to have a work by in your apartment?

A work of art by Damien Hirst and the apartment by Leo Klenze.

It will be difficult to find a harmonious combination.

That gives a foretaste of the coalition in the next Bundestag.
