When the vaccination bus stops in Bad Wiessee on Saturday, August 21, a free bratwurst roll will be waiting for everyone who wants to be vaccinated.

It is donated by Uli Hoeneß.

Bad Wiessee

- A sausage roll free of charge as a reward for anyone who gets vaccinated.

The bratwurst method, which has been popular in several Bavarian municipalities since Thuringia, apparently works.

Because with the prospect of a warm sausage in a crispy roll, clearly more people can be poked than on a normal vaccination day.

That should now also work in Bad Wiessee.

On Saturday, August 21, when the district's vaccination bus stops in the central car park from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the offer for a free snack will be tempting.

It is donated by none other than the prominent Wiesse citizen Uli Hoeneß, ex-Bayern boss and founder of the Nuremberg sausage empire HoWe.

Corona vaccination campaign at Tegernsee: Uli Hoeneß distributes sausages

Mayor Robert Kühn initiated the campaign. “Everyone is working on how the vaccination can be administered completely casually, especially for indecisive people,” says Kühn, who admits that he got the impetus for this very special idea from the JU Tegernsee. In response to a spontaneous request from the Hoeneß couple, he immediately received an acceptance for sponsorship. Kühn cannot yet say whether Hoeneß will stop by himself. In 2017, when a fire partially destroyed the rescue center in Bad Wiessee, Hoeneß personally stood in Aldi's grill cart and donated the proceeds to the BRK. "I myself will definitely be at the grill once in a while," promises the SPD mayor. “Because anyone who knows me knows that I enjoy doing it.” Above all, he wants to talk to the citizens.

In order to attract the visitors and to persuade as many as possible still unvaccinated people to have an injection, the community has come up with another attraction. The Wiesse fire brigade and the local BRK standby are holding a short “blue light day” at the central parking lot to provide information about their work. This campaign, during which children and adults can find out about the important work of the emergency services and inspect vehicles and equipment, the mobile vaccination station and the free bratwurst are an ideal addition for Kühn. "We are showing that we as a community are absolutely committed to getting people vaccinated." The day should be a success, hopes Kühn and refers to the success of the mobile vaccination team in the town hall at the beginning of August. All vaccines approved in the EU will be vaccinated on Saturday.
