Good news alongside alarming forecasts:
Severe morbidity in the immunized at-risk population, but a continued increase in severe morbidity in the unvaccinated population is evident.
This is according to a report by experts from the Hebrew University published today (Tuesday).
The report also shows that the difference between the vaccinated and unvaccinated population is currently reflected in an increase in the mortality rate of patients severely to the level of previous waves, leading to about 150-250 deaths per week at the end of August, and about 500-1000 deaths at the end of September.
Continuing a downward trend in new difficult hospitalizations, will lead to a peak hospitalization of less than 2,000 patients at a time, and with reasonable discounts even below 1,200.
Due to the continued spread of the disease, the trend of separation between the vaccinated and unvaccinated population is expected to intensify in terms of the development of the severe disease.
Experts recommend continuing to accelerate the immunization campaign, especially of the unvaccinated population at all.
In light of the level of immunization of the population, immediate steps should be taken to limit infection: limiting gatherings and enforcing the green and purple mark, as well as a recommendation for work from home.
