In Hong Kong’s first "Hong Kong National Security Act" case, a man, Tang Yingjie, rammed a police officer on a motorcycle with the banner of "Recover Hong Kong Times Revolution" on July 1 last year.

He was convicted of inciting others to split the country and terrorist activities last month and was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

Tang Yingjie applied to the Court of Appeal last Friday (13th) to appeal both the conviction and sentence, but the judiciary's website has no deadline.

The defendant Tang Yingjie (24 years old, waiter) was convicted of inciting others to split the country and terrorist activities by three judges designated by the National Security Law, Du Libing, Peng Baoqin and Chen Jiaxin last month.

The judge was sentenced to 6 and a half years and 8 years for the two crimes, and the two and a half years for terrorism crimes were executed in installments with inciting others to split the country, that is, the total sentence is 9 years.

In addition, the judge also ordered Tang to suspend trading for 10 years.
