Iraqi forces announced the launch of a security operation to hunt down the remnants of ISIS terrorists in Diyala Governorate, east of Baghdad.
The Iraqi News Agency, INA, quoted the commander of Diyala operations for the Popular Mobilization Forces, Talib al-Moussawi, as saying in a statement that the army, in partnership with the Popular Mobilization Forces, launched this morning a large-scale security operation to pursue the remnants of “ISIS” terrorists within three main sectors in Diyala, explaining that the operation includes searching and securing the Hamrin Lake Basin. The Naryn River and the North Axis.
Al-Moussawi indicated that the operation will continue with the support of the army’s aviation until its goals are achieved by eliminating the remnants of “ISIS” terrorists and destroying their movements.
The Iraqi forces continue their operations in various regions to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorists and destroy their hideouts.
