The encouraging data and the high response of the Israeli public to get vaccinated in a third dose can be a turning point • Prevent closure, which is ineffective in preventing disease and must be a last resort only

The State of Israel and the entire world are currently facing the culmination of a fourth wave of illness, which erupted due to the Delta variant.

Data collected in the UK show that the vaccine is more than 90 percent effective in preventing hospitalizations and serious illness against both the alpha variant and the delta variant.

However, the infection rate in the Delta variant is high and requires Israel to take a series of measures that will reduce infection rates and increase the number of patients severely.

The high infection rate in the Delta variant meets Israel with a relatively high rate of vaccination, which stands at more than 65 percent.

However, Israel should not freeze on the yeast, as the longer the corona epidemic in the world continues, the more variants will appear, which will challenge its extraordinary achievements in the vaccination campaign each time.

Companies such as Pfizer are already making efforts to adapt the vaccines to the various variants, and we are expected to continue to be vaccinated until a large part of the world's populations are vaccinated or recovered from corona.

Therefore, a change in Israel's strategic perception is required from a long-term perspective and the need to live safely alongside the Corona.

The first component of the safe living strategy alongside the corona is maintaining a high proportion of vaccinated in the population.

First and foremost, the vaccination of about one million Israelis who have not yet been vaccinated in the first dose should be encouraged through information and incentives, along with legitimate restrictions.

For example, tests should not be funded or isolation days should be paid to those who have not been vaccinated, and on the other hand, free admission to the show should be given as an incentive for vaccinated young people.

Most Israelis who have not been vaccinated are not vaccinated.

Many fear, hesitate or are fed by Pike News that irresponsible people distribute on networks.

This population should be segmented into designated sectors and groups and act in a targeted manner, with the assistance of opinion leaders such as rabbis, doctors or celebrities, to encourage them to get vaccinated.

A second component of the Corona Safe Life Strategy is vaccination of adults, medical staff and at-risk populations. Israel was a pioneer in the world in the third vaccination campaign. From studies we conducted in Sheba we learn that the third vaccine is effective and significantly raises the level of antibodies. At the same time, data from the Ministry of Health indicate a decrease of more than 50 percent among those aged 60 and over who have been confirmed for the virus. This encouraging figure is affected at least in part by the number of vaccinated adults. It can be assumed with great caution that within a few weeks it seems to be slowing down, and even decreasing, in the number of patients is difficult.

A third component is the strengthening of the health care system, which entered the corona war without reserves and with one of the highest occupancy rates in the world. The recent government decision on the addition of fixed standards to the health system is a necessary step in securing a wider back for the economy and the state. It is important that these steps be accompanied by the establishment of a nationwide rapid testing system, such as the one proposed in the "Green Class" outline of Safra Children's Hospital in Sheba, and increased enforcement - especially at Ben Gurion Airport, so that we can maintain long-term vaccination results.

The encouraging data and the high response of the Israeli public to get vaccinated in a third dose can be a turning point and prevent closure, which is not effective in preventing disease and must be only a last resort. With the help of raising the rate of vaccinators, adhering to the guidelines, fulfilling the rules of the green mark and enforcement, we will be able to stop the current wave, open the school year as a series and lead a safe life alongside the Corona.
