The team of Hebrew University researchers warned that the increase in mortality would be felt as early as this month, with 250-150 deaths next week. In a document passed to ministers, they pointed to a growing gap between those vaccinated and those who are not, which may help reduce the seriousness of the disease: "Under reasonable assumptions, the peak hospitalization will be below 1,200."

The weekly death toll from the Corona virus will reach 500 to 1,000 by the end of next month, the team of Hebrew University researchers estimated in a document they submitted to the government today (Tuesday).

According to the forecast presented by the experts, the weekly number will jump to 250-150 as early as next week due to an increase in the serious morbidity among the unvaccinated population.

Experts pointed to a growing difference in the effect of the disease on vaccinated versus non-vaccinated.

Among the vaccinated, inhibition was seen in the severe morbidity, while the mortality rates of the unvaccinated have risen in recent days to the level of the previous waves of the virus.

The conclusions are in line with the government's approach to dealing with the epidemic - an intensive promotion of immunization with the thought that the operation may prevent closure.

According to the researchers, the change in the trend of serious patients may prevent reaching the threshold threshold in hospitals.

"Continuing a downward trend in new difficult hospitalizations, will lead to a hospitalization record of less than 2,000 patients at a time, and with reasonable discounts even below 1,200."

This morning, it will be recalled, the Ministry of Health updated that 8,646 verified corona virus have been diagnosed in the last day, the highest number since February 1st.

They were diagnosed with 141,972 tests, at a rate of 6.2%.

Another jump was recorded in the number of serious patients, the most significant measure in discussions on closure, which rose to 559-40 more than yesterday.

A total of 55,323 people are currently infected with the virus.

926 patients were hospitalized, including 89 respirators, a decrease of three from yesterday.

Thirteen patients died in the last day, and 6,694 from the outbreak.

The Ministry of Health also updated that the vaccination campaign continues to progress, with 1,052,615 receiving the third dose and 5,421,544 vaccinated in the second dose.
