Less than a month after reports of an Israeli attack on Syria near the city of Hummus were received, the Syrian news agency reported tonight (Tuesday) that Israel had carried out an attack in the Quneitra area.
The report of the attack comes after security tensions in the north, which included clashes between the IDF and Hezbollah along the border with Lebanon.
Earlier this month, more than a dozen rockets were fired by Hezbollah at Israeli territory.
No damage was done and there were no casualties.
The IDF responded by firing dozens of shells at Lebanese territory. The IDF said that most of the rockets were intercepted by air defense fighters and the rest fell in open areas in the Har Dov area.
Also, about two weeks ago, there were reports in Russia that the Kremlin was changing its approach to activity attributed to Israel in Syria, and did not intend to contain more Israeli attacks.
