The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, has tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, according to his office in Austin, after he opposed for weeks the orders to use the mask while the cases in the state.
Texas officials said the Republican governor has been testing himself for coronavirus every day and that this was the first the results revealed the presence of the virus in his system.
