The road to autonomy for people with disabilities is full of obstacles

In the attached video, three citizens with reduced mobility document the obstacles they face on a daily basis

Ariadna Balmes (30 years old) struggles to get used to a different world since a chemotherapy treatment caused a spinal cord injury that paralyzed her body from the waist down in 2017. A world where there are badly parked cars that prevent her from getting into hers, where there are ramps to go to the beach, but the walkway only reaches the middle of the beach, several meters from the water.

“They are small details that are not taken into account.

You are not aware until you find yourself in this situation ”, Balmes says in the attached video.

Every day is a challenge for people with reduced mobility, because even on the shortest routes there are still countless barriers. In the video, Balmes, Maurizio Bianchi (61 years old) and Jordi Diz (42 years old) show the obstacles that people with disabilities face to participate in society.
