The Commercial Bank of Syria, Branch 1 in Hama Governorate, has started receiving citizens' requests to benefit from loans for small, medium and long-term projects with subsidized interest.

Raymond Al-Abdullah, director of the Commercial Bank branch in Hama, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the bank is working to provide facilities and exemptions for borrowers to obtain loans for small, medium and long-term projects, where subsidized loans are granted at an interest rate, including projects for the production of renewable energy supplies and equipment, dairy and cheese factories, and projects for the manufacture of threads and automated weaving. fabrics and dyestuffs.

He pointed out that loans are also provided for the restoration and establishment of industrial facilities, automatic weaving, knitting, carpets, rugs, electrical and electronic tools industry, lighting devices, tools and medical devices, in addition to projects for the wood, aluminum, poultry and beef industries, indicating that the amount of support for these projects is 7 percent.

Al-Abdullah explained that short loans are granted for a period of one year and are financed by 70 percent of the capital, while medium loans are granted for a period of three years, backed by 60 percent, in addition to long-term loans granted for a period of ten years, and the loan is supported by 60 percent.

For his part, Muhammad Al-Omar, Head of the Loans, Follow-up and Credit Department at the bank, indicated that the focus is currently on granting loans to projects of a productive nature and providing support to them, as the interest of the bank is 11 percent and the interest accruing to the beneficiary after the support is 4 percent, pointing out that all measures have been taken to facilitate obtaining the loan. Reducing the papers required to support all professional projects and increasing local production.

Dr. Kanjo Abboud Kanjo, Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Vice President of the University of Hama, believes that small and medium enterprises occupy a great importance in the economies of all societies, explaining that the issuance of this decision helps support these projects and a step in the right direction in order to contribute to the reconstruction and economic development in Syria, especially that The war showed that these projects were the carrier of the Syrian economy for a long time.
