Researchers from London took a close look at the symptoms of Covid 19 disease - in those who were fully vaccinated.
In doing so, they discovered something amazing.
London - Despite having a full vaccination, it is possible to contract the coronavirus.
The risk is very small, but there is.
This finding is also supported by a study from Great Britain.
Researchers at King's College in London took a closer look at this group of vaccinated people who got infected anyway.
To do this, they evaluated data from over 1.1 million British people who were vaccinated between December 2020 and mid-May 2021.
Vaccinated persons registered via a special app to take part in the study.
The participants stored their symptoms, test results and the vaccine they received there.
The researchers analyzed which symptoms the infected people developed and found something amazing.
Corona infection: four typical symptoms - only vaccinated people have one
After their first vaccination, 2,278 people tested positive for Corona.
After the second vaccination, there were only 187 of the 1.1 million participants. The study at King's College London focused on what symptoms the infected people developed.
Most often, the infected complained of four typical complaints, one of which only occurred in the vaccinated.
The researchers were able to find out that symptoms such as shortness of breath, swollen lymph nodes or ear pain occur in the same way in those infected. It doesn't matter whether the person is vaccinated or not. There was one difference, however, in that unvaccinated people complained more about tinnitus. One symptom only appeared in the vaccinated: sneezing.
"Interestingly, our data show that people who were vaccinated and then tested positive for Covid-19 were more likely to report sneezing as a symptom compared to people without a vaccination," the report said.
Since sneezing is one of the top ways the coronavirus can spread, the experts advise, “Try to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow to minimize the spread of droplets.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth until you have washed your hands. ”Because despite a complete vaccination, there is still a residual risk of contracting the virus.
