Various handicrafts and artifacts presented by about 20 women from different regions of As-Suwayda in an art exhibition that opened today in the All Arts Hall in the city.

The exhibition, which was held in cooperation with the Antique Ghadhn Center and the House of Crafts for Handicrafts, will last for three days.

The exhibition aims to encourage artisanal and artistic handicrafts, as mentioned by the Director of All Arts Hall, Magdy Al-Aqbani, to SANA’s reporter, in addition to introducing the work techniques in it, highlighting the creativity of the participants in this field, and promoting the culture of acquiring these works to ensure their continuity in work.

Elham Abu Marra indicated that she used the remnants of fabrics to design paintings and pieces for household uses, stressing the importance of the exhibition to motivate housewives who have craft and artistic abilities and invest them in useful and obtainable things.

The diversity between the recycling of burlap sacks and the woolen works of Wafaa Abu Khalil's crafts appeared, as she found in the exhibition an opportunity to communicate with others and introduce her handicraft production.

Magda Al-Halabi presented drawings on pottery pots, some of which were planted, in addition to oriental bags of fabrics, known as her work, which helps her achieve more self-actualization, as she mentioned.

The young woman, Hanan Salah El-Din, who displayed medical soap and gifts for children of her production, considered that the exhibition supports women to expand their work and reflects the state of skill and precision in manual work.

Samiha Shukair focused on presenting embroideries from the Palestinian heritage that were previously used by grandmothers in designing the bride's apparatus, in order to preserve this heritage and show the aesthetic condition in it.

At the exhibition, Faten Makled found an opportunity to introduce her work in the manufacture of accessories, exchange experiences with others and put forward new ideas, while Silva Maarouf, as I mentioned, tried to break out of the traditional framework by manufacturing dolls by combining practical use of them and using them as toys for children.

Nujoud Deeb explained that the exhibition reflects the training phase she received at the Old Ghosn Center during the last period to present hand embroideries on home décor.

The two visitors to the exhibition, Shatha Oweidat and Mufeed Al-Aqbani, stopped at what they described as a state of diversity in the presented works and the mastery of their design, with the introduction of new ideas that support artisanal and artistic manual work in the governorate despite all the difficulties that exist.
