A 16-year-old from Sharon was arrested on suspicion of murdering a sex offender in Netanya

At the end of an investigation of more than a week, the police arrested the boy on suspicion of murdering a 42-year-old known to the police from the field of sexual offenses.

The police will ask the Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva to extend his detention.

A 16-year-old boy from the Sharon was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) on suspicion of murdering a 42-year-old sex offender in Netanya last Monday.

The suspect was transferred to the Magistrate's Court in Petah Tikva to discuss extending his detention.

A restraining order was imposed on the details of the investigation.

Last week, the body of a 42-year-old man was found in the morning in an apartment on Nehemiah Street in Netanya, with signs of violence on it.

MDA staff who arrived at the scene determined the death of the man on the spot. MDA paramedic Yaki Hajaj who was present at the incident said that "we saw the man lying unconscious with signs of violence on his body, we performed medical tests but he was without signs of life".

After the man was pronounced dead, police opened an investigation and gathered evidence.

The suspicion of the police, as stated, is that this is a murder.

The police investigation shows that the murdered man is known to the police from the field of sexual offenses.
