Rehabilitation of the Hamdaniya Basketball Hall continues in the Sports City in Aleppo, which can accommodate 8,000 spectators and has an area of 8,000 square meters, to be ready to host the next season’s matches.
The supervisor of the hall rehabilitation project, Engineer Basil Hajj Hussein, explained to SANA’s sports representative that a contract was made with the Military Housing Corporation in December last year with an estimated value of 830 million Syrian pounds to install a “park” floor, provided that its installation will be completed at the end of next month, pointing out that After that, the main platform and Al Mashaleh will be equipped, stressing at the same time that the General Sports Federation will secure the digital screens and the buildings. He expects the maintenance to be completed during the month of December, so that the hall will be ready for sports activities, knowing that the hall is equipped with ten doors to secure the entry and exit of the public and three exits with car parking.
The head of the ball games office, Ahmed Saqqi, stated that the Hamdaniya Hall is an important civilized edifice in the city of Aleppo, and it can accommodate eight thousand spectators, and six clubs who practice basketball in the excellent class will play in it.
In turn, the head of the Executive Committee of the General Sports Federation branch in Aleppo, Mazen Bayram, said: “The sports city, with its stadiums and halls in the previous period, was out of service due to the repeated attacks on it by armed terrorist groups. Noting that a contract was made with public sector companies to rehabilitate the giant hall in Hamdania to be a theater for the game's activities.
It is noteworthy that the area of the Sports City in Al-Hamdaniya is 340,000 square meters and includes Aleppo International Stadium with a capacity of 75,000 spectators, Al-Hamdaniya Stadium with a capacity of 15,000 spectators, a training stadium with a capacity of 1,000 spectators, in addition to the indoor hall with a capacity of 8,000 spectators, the Olympic outdoor swimming pool, the indoor swimming pool, training halls and tennis courts.
