Tartous-Sana

A varied classical evening from different eras presented by the musicians Marwan Abu Jahjah, the viola player in the National Syphonic Orchestra, Razan Al-Qassar, the first violinist in the band, and Waguid Mansour, the pianist, a graduate of the Higher Institute of Music.

The evening, which was set up by the Directorate of Culture in the governorate, at the theater of the Arab Cultural Center in Tartous, Abu Jahjah said in a statement to SANA that it comes as part of a tripartite tour that started last Saturday in the Salamiyah area and the second station on Monday in the Suwayda governorate, noting that the band was established about four years ago. Years aims to bring the classic art that is characterized as elitist and present it in a simplified and acceptable way to the public.

He explained that today’s program is diverse, in which tracks from several countries, including Russia, Germany and France, are presented, including “Toccata” by “Frisco Baldi” and “Andaluza” by “Grana Douche,” in addition to various tracks by “Johann Bach and Shostakovich” to conclude with “Syria Link.” One of the popular songs I prepared specifically for this tour, such as my song “Bali Ma’ak wa Al Moj Al Bahar”.

Both Engy Wassouf and Suhail Al-Ali from the audience found that despite the lack of classical evenings, this art has a history, international names, and a distinguished audience, because this art brings calm and psychological comfort to everyone who listens to it, and similar evenings must be held at close intervals.
