The restrictions on the extended green label came into force today (Wednesday), according to which sitting in restaurants inside and outside is only allowed for those vaccinated for corona, recovering and those who have a valid negative corona test.

Meanwhile, restaurant owners across the country are complaining about disorder, confused customers and many cancellations of orders accordingly.

On the other hand, there are restaurateurs who believe that the expansion of regulations is a positive step that will curb the disease and prevent a full closure.

Omar Cohen, the owner of the "Dalida" restaurant in Tel Aviv, described a serious situation.

"For eight days now we have been experiencing cancellations and a critical drop in the number of customers. People who cancel at the last minute because one of the participants fell ill or went into isolation. All the restaurants are under deep stress."

According to him, the cancellations are reminiscent of the days of previous closures, "when you do not know whether it is worth opening or not - because you start the day with orders of 200 people and at the end arrive 30. People are afraid to leave at the moment."

"Food and inventory costs have also gone up, and we are a restaurant that makes fewer deliveries. We need to reduce labor and reduce costs of expenses and start thinking about how to do it. May God help us," he warned.

Hai, the manager of a restaurant in Tel Aviv, reports a "non-drastic" amount of cancellations, but estimates that it will increase later this week.

"People came, did not understand what was needed, asked 'what's the green character in?', Got mad and left. I have nothing to do with it," he said.

"I do not understand why you need a green sign outside, it is a strong blow to business, at least in the restaurant world:

great freedom, people go out with family and children and no one starts chasing corona tests for the child to go somewhere and decide to just give up."

Yaffa Tzabag, owner of the Yaffa restaurant in Jerusalem, did not face cancellations at the restaurant during the day. "On the big holiday most customers come in groups like families, and in a less planned way, so there are no queues at the moment and just arrive," she said, noting that she did not have to refuse entry to people who were not vaccinated - "they may have given up in advance."

At the same time, Tsabag criticized the Corona Cabinet's decision: "The situation in which we restaurateurs once again have to replace the king's host hat with a bright blue hat, and serve as police officers, is an unpleasant situation and makes it very difficult for us due to manpower shortages."

"If the government had been efficient and responded in time to the activity from Ben Gurion Airport," she added, "then today we would not have gone back to the green mark and we would have continued to deal with what we do best - prepare fine food."

At the same time, there are restaurant owners who express support for operating the green label in outdoor seating, even at the cost of less income - as a full closure will result in more significant economic losses.

Dudu Lugassi, owner of Chef La Pastria restaurant in Netivot, said: "It's good that they started with the green mark, it will hurt me financially, but it is better to have a green mark and have everyone do tests like I send my employees, instead of closing and losing even more financially."

Bnei Amar, owner of Cafe Greg in Netivot, Be'er Sheva and Kiryat Malachi, said: "I think they have reached a place that must be checked at the moment, and the green label is in place. It could hurt financially and fewer people might come to restaurants -
