The Center for Food Safety today (18th) urged the public to stop eating. The relevant importers have taken the initiative to remove the affected products from the shelves and stop sales, and start recalling them.

The spokesperson of the Center for Food Safety pointed out that it was notified by the importer that the ginger powder imported into Nature's Finest from India and a coconut milk drink imported from BJORG from Italy were suspected to contain the pesticide ethylene oxide banned by the EU.

The importer had imported affected batches of products in Hong Kong.

The Center for Food Safety pointed out that based on the fact that ethylene oxide has been banned by the European Union, for the sake of prudence, the relevant importers have taken the initiative to remove the affected products from the shelves and stop the sale, and start recycling.

Members of the public who wish to inquire about the recall of the affected products can call the importer’s hotline 2389 2312 during office hours.

The spokesman also urged that citizens who purchase the affected products should stop eating them.

If the industry holds the relevant products, they should stop using or selling them immediately.
