The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection inform the traveling public and the regional and local councils of exceptional results in water sampling, which was carried out to examine the state of pollution in some streams in the north.

Tests for bacteria in samples taken two days ago (Monday), results were found in a number of streams in the north that deviate from the recommendations of the Ministry of Health (400 fecal ultrasound per 100 ml) - which indicate the presence of contamination in the water.

Results obtained:

Snir (Hasbani): Roman Bridge 410;

Downhill hydroelectric station 430;

Shed to Jordan 480.

Jordan: Gesher Yosef 560;

Flame Bridge 520;

Bridge Five 580;

Hole Bridge 470;

Mitzad Petition 850;

Aunts Bridge 500;

Eric Bridge 850.

Yehudiya 460. Zaki 480. Magrasa 330. Hexagons: Hexagon Pool 280. Gilbon: Deborah Waterfall 1500. El Al: Black Waterfall 340. Zalmon: Carob Pool 1440;

The flour mill 2300. Kaziv: The Delavim Pool 700. Ga'aton The Horba parking lot 1000.

In light of these results, entry into the following streams could be dangerous:

  • Snir (Hasbani) from the Roman bridge (Lebanese border) to the junction with the Jordan

  • Jordan from the Yosef Bridge to the Arik Bridge

  • Gilbon - Deborah Waterfall

  • Yehudiya - Yehudiya Waterfall

  • Zaki

  • Magrasa *

  • Hexagons - Hexagon Pool *

  • El Al River - The Black Waterfall *

  • Nahal Zalmon - Carob Pool and Flour Mill

  • Nahal Kziv - The Pools of the Delavim

  • Nahal Ga'aton - The ruin parking lot

* Note: A normal one-time result after prolonged anomalies or instability in water quality throughout the season.

With the exception of Nahal Snir, where high values were already measured at the point of entry into Israel, the Ministry of Environmental Protection did not find a known source of pollution in the other streams. The sampling for water quality in several streams in the north is carried out from a sample every two weeks, at fixed sampling points representing a waterfall, pond or section of the river, through the inspectors of the Nature and Parks Authority. The Ministries of Health and Environmental Protection continue to sample and monitor, and will update later as needed.
