News: Three members of the Hong Kong University Student Union were arrested by the National Security Department for violating the publicity of terrorism

According to sources, the National Security Department of the police arrested three members of the Hong Kong University Student Union this morning (18th), including the former president of the Hong Kong University Student Union Guo Yonghao, the chairman of the Hong Kong University Council Zhang Jingsheng, and the representative of the College of Arts Student Union Rong Songxi, and took a number of people to assist in the investigation.

The source also stated that relevant persons were arrested for violating Article 27 of the "Minato National Security Act" for promoting terrorism.

Two campus reporters assisted in the investigation

According to sources, the National Security Department arrested three Hong Kong university students this morning, including Zhang Jingsheng, Rong Songxi, and Guo Yonghao, on suspicion of propagating terrorism and violating Article 27 of the National Security Law.

The police also asked three other people to assist in the investigation, including two campus reporters and an honorary secretary of the council.

The Hong Kong University Journal Academy Real-time News Facebook confirmed that the former president of the student union, the chairman of the council, and the former vice chairman of foreign affairs of the student union of the Faculty of Arts were arrested by police officers this morning.

The editor-in-chief of the Academy, the chairman of campus TV and the honorary secretary of the council were taken to the police station by police officers to assist in the investigation.

As for the news that the fourth student of the Student Union was arrested, the Academy clarified that the former Li Guoxiantang Student Union representative has not been arrested for the time being.

After the July 1 assassination case, the Hong Kong University Student Union Council passed a motion on July 7, expressing "deep condolences" to the suspect Liang Jianhui's subsequent death and "grateful for his sacrifice for Hong Kong."

The Education Bureau and the Security Bureau subsequently criticized and condemned the council by name.

The council subsequently withdrew the bill on July 9, apologized and resigned.

The National Security Office of the police filed a case for investigation, and on July 16 went to the Hong Kong University Student Union to search the premises.

In an exclusive interview with the newspaper, Li Guozhang, chairman of the University Council of the University of Hong Kong, said that the University of Hong Kong would not intervene or interfere, describing the two as "doing their own things."
