Mutashar wrote, among other things: "We, the Ahwazi people, highly value the State of Israel. You are a powerful, respected state - and the only ones who can influence the fate of the region."
The issue of the difficult lives of the Ahwazis in Iran has made headlines around the world in recent months with the outbreak of the "water protest" against the ayatollahs' regime.

Matasher told Bennett that "Ahwaz is a strategic and historic area. Beyond its geographical and historical importance, it has great economic importance thanks to its oil and gas reserves. Also, in light of Iran's aspirations to develop conventional and nuclear weapons - Ahwaz is even more important."
He said, "Cooperation between the Ahwazis and Israel will help combat the Iranian threat and its terrorist organizations, with which it is trying to take control of the region."
The founder and head of Ahwaaz's Liberal Party stressed that "if Ahwazi oil ceases to be available to Iran - the sources of funding for Iranian terrorist activities will dry up and be eliminated." Matasher concluded that "as a liberal party with a secular orientation, we are ready to cooperate with all our might with Israel, which can help us a lot at the security level, while we can help it at the economic level. So both sides will benefit greatly."
