For the first time in front of the fans at Turner Stadium, Hapoel Beer Sheva will meet Anorthosis Famagusta tomorrow (Thursday, 20:00) in the playoffs of the Conference League, in the first game out of two.
Among Be'er Sheva, whose three representatives (Dor Micha, Ariel Harush and Roni Levy) know the rival from Cyprus very well, they made a focused preparation in order to come out with a significant advantage towards the reciprocity.
"There is picantry around a game but the point is to move on to the next stage and that is our goal," said coach Roni Levy.
"We play first at home and then away. Anorthosis is a better team with a tradition in Europe. This is not the same team I coached. The first game at home so we strive to get a good result but know that in every situation there are two games.
Another coach talks about the period he coached in Cyprus: "In football the teams change very quickly and it is not the same team I coached."
On Dor Micha, who joined the team last month: "He is an important player for us. We helped him a bit but not only does he know our opponent. Danilo joined the squad late yet not one hundred percent ready. And we will see tomorrow according to developments.
Itai Schechter added: "Something new is being built at Hapoel Beer Sheva this season. There is a good and healthy locker room. There is good energy and most importantly we will see it on the grass soon."
"I came to a new challenge, I got warmth and love here. Overall fun to be with warm people for whom the team is everything.
Getting to Turner is an experience and I have been waiting for this thing for a long time.
The crowd is pushing us from the warm-up stage and that is very important. "
"I am proud of my friends who went through a difficult hurdle last week. We went through a good team with a great result. Now we have to connect and work hard. There are a lot of new players here and in a short time everyone has to connect even though everyone comes with their own style."
