The government of Mexico reported this Wednesday in a statement that the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofrepis) authorized the emergency use of the vaccine from the American biotechnology company Moderna against covid-19 in the country.
The statement details that the Committee for New Molecules (CMN) met on Monday to analyze the use of this vaccine and obtained the unanimous approval of the experts as a result.

Moderna is the eighth COVID-19 vaccine brand approved by Cofrepis for use in Mexico.
The others are Johnson & Johnson's Pfizer / BioNTech, AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, CanSino, Sinovac, Covaxin and Janssen.
The undersecretary of Health of Mexico, Dr. Hugo López-Gatell, published on his Twitter account that until this Tuesday in the country a total of 78 million 765,073 doses of vaccines against covid-19 have been applied.
