The Forestry and Fire Monitoring Platform of the General Authority for Remote Sensing announced that the indicators of the danger of the spread of fires indicate that the forest areas in northwestern Syria will continue to be affected by the medium and high levels of danger from today until tomorrow, Thursday.
The platform published an update of its report showing the map of the intensity of the fire spread index of its indicators in forest areas, as it was during the last period since Wednesday.
The head of the platform at the authority, Dr. Rosa Qaramuka, indicated in a statement to the representative of SANA that, at the beginning of the week, it was pointed out that there was a change in the spatial distribution of risk indicators, as it differed slightly. Some forest sites were affected by the high and medium risk index, depending on the high temperatures and the dryness of the vegetation cover in general and the plants in the forest floor In particular, it indicated that the area of forests in Lattakia Governorate, which is under the influence of the high risk index, increased slightly, in addition to the continued impact of sites on the eastern slope of the coastal mountain range.
Garmouma noted the efforts of forestry, forest protection and civil defense workers for their constant readiness and readiness to protect our forest wealth, pointing out that the platform warned to be alert to any fire or smoke, because our Mediterranean forests are currently at the height of the fire season and the danger of fires is noted, calling for any fire to be reported as soon as it breaks out on the toll-free number 188. .
